General

What is Work Register?

Work Register is a team task and approvals app. It lets you plan work as Projects, Jobs, and Tasks, move items through To Do, Doing, Done, Checked, and Authorised statuses, chat with your team, log attendance, request leaves, view your Google Calendar, read and send email from your connected Gmail, and manage roles - all inside the company you belong to.

Who is Work Register for?

Small and mid-sized teams that need a clear way to assign work, review completions, and keep a record of every change. Teams that already work with a Checker / Authoriser two-step review get the most out of it.

Is Work Register free?

Yes. Work Register does not currently sell any paid plan, subscription, or in-app purchase. If that changes in the future, we will publish the change in the app and in these FAQs first.

What platforms is Work Register available on?

Work Register is available on iOS and Android. The same account works on both - sign in with Google to pick up where you left off.

Signing In

How do I sign in?

Work Register uses Google Sign-In only. Tap the Google sign-in button on the welcome screen and pick the Google account you want to use.

Can I use my work email if it's not a Google account?

Not directly. You can sign in with any Google Workspace account (so most company emails work), but personal email addresses that are not Google accounts cannot sign in yet.

What happens when I sign in for the first time?

You'll be asked to either create a company or join an existing company. The first user to sign into a freshly created company automatically becomes the Super Admin of that company.

Companies & Switching

Can I belong to more than one company?

Yes. The same Google account can be a member of multiple companies. Each company is fully isolated - your tasks, chats, attendance, team list, and notifications switch with you when you change companies.

How do I create a new company?

On the welcome screen, tap Create company. The company you create starts with a default page containing Vision, Mission, Core Principles, Values, and Beliefs sections, which the Super Admin can edit anytime from the Company tab.

How do I join an existing company?

Either accept an emailed invite sent by an admin, or search for the company by name and send a join request. If the company has "Allow join requests" turned on, the Super Admin can approve your request from their notifications.

How do I switch between companies?

Open the company switcher from your profile. Switching reloads team, chats, notifications, attendance, and the Workspace tab against the new company. Data from the previous company is dropped from memory so nothing leaks across tenants.

Can I leave a company?

Yes. Open Settings > Company > Leave company. An admin can also remove you. Either way, your membership is marked as left and you will no longer see that company's data.

Projects, Jobs & Tasks

What's the difference between a Project, a Job, and a Task?

Projects are the outer container. A Project can hold many Jobs, and each Job can hold many Tasks. You can also create standalone Jobs and Tasks if you don't need the full hierarchy. Each level has its own status and its own approval flow.

What are the statuses?

To Do > Doing > Done > Checked > Authorised. Done means the assignee has completed the work. Checked means the Checker has reviewed it. Authorised means the Authoriser has signed off.

Can I edit or delete a Task after it's been started or completed?

Yes, but edits and deletions to items that have already moved past To Do go through the approval flow. The Authoriser sees the request in the Approvals tab and either approves or rejects it.

Can work repeat automatically?

Yes. Projects, Jobs, and Tasks can be set to repeat daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly. New instances are generated automatically by the server on schedule.

How do I sort my workspace?

Sort by due time, start time, or alphabetically, in ascending or descending order. The setting is per-user.

Approvals

Who can approve completions?

Checkers move items from Done > Checked. Authorisers (and Super Admins / Tech Admins) move items from Checked > Authorised. Authorisers also approve edits and deletions.

Where do I see things waiting for my approval?

Open the Approvals tab in the bottom navigation. You'll see Check, Authorise, Edit, and Delete buckets depending on your role.

Can a single user be both a Checker and an Authoriser?

Yes. Roles stack. A user can hold any combination of Checker, Authoriser, Auditor, Maker, and Member roles. Super Admin and Tech Admin automatically have Authoriser capability.

Roles & Permissions

What roles exist?

Who can change roles?

Only Super Admin and Tech Admin can change roles, from the Users tab. Role changes require biometric re-authentication on the device.

Chat & Calls

Are chats encrypted?

Yes. 1:1 and group conversations between Work Register users are end-to-end encrypted - only the people in the conversation can read the message content. Chats are also scoped to the company you are in: messages from Company A do not appear when you switch to Company B.

What can I send in chat?

Text, voice notes, images, videos, documents, locations, and contacts. You can also place 1:1 voice and video calls.

How do "Delete for everyone" deletions work?

When you delete a message for everyone, the message is removed for all participants and any attached media is deleted from server storage.

Calendar

Does Work Register connect to my Google Calendar?

Yes, optionally. If you connect Google Calendar, Work Register requests read-only access and shows your own events in the Calendar tab so you can plan work alongside them. Your calendar data is cached on your device, is never sent to our servers, and is never shared or sold. You can disconnect at any time from your Google Account permissions. See our Privacy Policy for details and Google's Limited Use requirements.

Email

Does Work Register connect to my Gmail?

Yes, optionally. If you connect Gmail, Work Register uses the single restricted gmail.modify scope to let you read, search, compose, reply to, send, and organise (mark read or unread, archive, label, and draft) your own mailbox inside the app's email client. That scope cannot permanently delete your email, and the app never does. Your mail is cached on your device, is never sent to or stored on our servers, and is never shared, sold, or used for advertising. You can disconnect at any time from your Google Account permissions. See our Privacy Policy for details and Google's Limited Use requirements.

Attendance & Leaves

How does attendance work?

Members mark attendance from the Attendance tab. Time Managers (a role assignable from Settings) can review attendance, mark on behalf of others, and approve leave requests.

How do I request a leave?

Open the Leaves tab, tap Request leave, pick the dates and the leave type, and submit. The Time Manager (or admin) sees the request and either approves or rejects it.

Privacy & Data

What data does Work Register process?

Depending on the features you use: account/profile data from Google (name, email, profile picture), the Projects/Jobs/Tasks you create, the chats and calls you participate in, attendance and leave records, your own Google Calendar events (if you connect your calendar), your own Gmail mailbox data (if you connect Gmail), device/app diagnostics, and abuse-reporting evidence. Calendar and mailbox data stay cached on your device. See our Privacy Policy for the full list.

How do I submit a privacy rights request?

Email admin@pplsttech.com with your account identifier and a description of your request. See GDPR Rights and CCPA/CPRA Rights for region-specific options.

Permissions

Why does Work Register ask for notification permission?

So you can be notified about new tasks assigned to you, approval requests waiting for your action, new chat messages, attendance reminders, and other team events. Without notification permission, time-sensitive items may be missed.

Why does Work Register ask for microphone and camera permissions?

The microphone is used for voice notes and 1:1 voice and video calls. The camera is used to capture photos and videos you choose to send in chat, and for video calls. Both permissions can be revoked at any time from your device settings; revoking them disables the related features.

Why does Work Register ask for location permission?

Location is optional. It is only used when you choose to attach your location to a chat message. You can deny or revoke this permission without affecting any other feature.

Why does Work Register sometimes ask for biometric authentication?

Sensitive actions - changing roles, editing the team, approving deletions - require a fresh local biometric or device-passcode check. This protects against someone using an unattended unlocked device to make irreversible changes.

Reporting & Safety

How do I report abuse, harassment, or unsafe behaviour?

Use the in-app report option on the contact or conversation, or email admin@pplsttech.com with screenshots, identifiers, and timestamps where possible. You can also block the contact at any time. See User Safety & Abuse Reporting.

Account & Deletion

How do I delete my account?

Open Settings > Account > Delete account inside the app. You can also request deletion via admin@pplsttech.com. See Account & Data Deletion Policy.

What happens to my company data if I delete my account?

Your personal account data is removed. Items you created inside a company - tasks, jobs, projects, chat messages, attendance and leave records - remain part of the company's records (where required for audit and continuity), but they are anonymised or transferred to the company's Super Admin as the controller of that data.

Do I need the app installed to request account deletion?

No. You can request deletion by email even if the app is not installed.

How long does deletion take?

We process deletion requests after verification and legal checks. Timelines vary by request type and applicable law. See Account Deletion & Data Removal.

Disclaimer

Does Work Register guarantee that my tasks, messages, or notifications are delivered?

No. Work Register is designed to help teams plan, track, and review work. It does not guarantee delivery, approval, recall, retention, or availability of any task, message, file, attendance entry, or notification.

Work Register is not a substitute for any statutory, regulatory, payroll, or human-resources system of record. You use Work Register at your own discretion. See Terms of Use.
